Organisation

Create the reusable organisation, work-calendar and shift records referenced throughout HRMS.

Recommended order

Create only the records that represent the real organisation. Employee Code, Date of Joining, Location, Department and Designation are optional in the employee form, but structured masters improve filtering, payroll grouping and reports.

  1. 01
    Work Locations

Branches, offices, sites, plants or temples where employees work.

  2. 02
    Departments and Designations

Organisation unit and job title. Keep them separate: Accounts is a department; Accountant is a designation.

  3. 03
    Employee Categories

Optional grouping such as Staff, Worker, Priest, Contract or Management.

  4. 04
    Shifts and calendars

Required when attendance, lateness, overtime or location-specific holidays matter.

Modules

Work Location Master

Enter a unique code/name plus address, city, state, PIN and contact details. State is useful for location-specific holidays and statutory reporting. Disable a closed site instead of deleting a location already referenced by employees.

Department Master

Create functional units such as Accounts, Sales, Operations and HR. Departments are used by recruitment, training, goals, appraisal and employee reporting.

Designation Master

Create job titles such as Accountant, Sales Executive or Manager. Use designations for requisitions, offers, onboarding templates, KPI targeting and employee records.

Employee Category Master

Create optional cross-department categories that drive policy differences, such as Permanent Staff, Contract Worker or Management.

Shift Master

Define start/end time, cross-midnight behaviour, grace minutes, half/full-day minutes, overtime eligibility/threshold and weekly-off rule. Add paid or unpaid Shift Break child rows.

Holiday Calendar Master

Create one calendar per year/policy, optionally tied to Work Location and State. Add Calendar Holiday rows with date, name, type and optional-holiday flag.

Minimum setup

A very small company can begin with employees and one payroll scheme without creating every optional master. Add locations, departments, designations and shifts as reporting/attendance needs become clearer.
